I have been asked many times as to what remodeling project would bring the highest rate of return should you ever sell your home. My answer is always two-fold. What are your goals with your remodel? If you want to remodel just to sell your home, then my answers are probably not for you. If you are remodeling your home to create an entirely new experience for you to enjoy for the next 10 years and then sell, here is my short list gleaned from 25 years of experience in the remodeling industry.
Upscale Kitchen
There is nothing like having a cup of coffee or a wonderful dinner in a new upscale remodeled kitchen. With fresh new granite or quartz counter tops, a new island with a 6-burner stove, new appliances and beautiful cabinets coupled with a new alcove eating area surrounded by glass creates a great feeling of freedom and comfort. Couple that with new smart home tech, lighting, tile, walls, windows, along with a myriad of beautiful upgrades, and your life will change forever. Also for some reason, your food even tastes better.
Upscale Bathroom
A new bathroom with heated floors in Colorado is amazing. Add stunning tile along with a new elegant bathtub, windows, the latest tech lighting, and you can create an entirely new environment for the most private areas of your home that you will enjoy for years to come. An upscale bathroom is more than just a bathroom as it needs to stand out as part of your living spaces.
Remodel the entire home
With real estate prices continuing to climb in Colorado, old and dated homes can easily carry the costs of an entire major remodel throughout your entire home. Adding a new upscale kitchen along with expanding your bedrooms and bathrooms into true living spaces, will make a huge difference to you. By creating an entirely new look throughout your home with unique lighting, ceiling and floor treatments, Pella windows and doors can transform your entire living space, to a welcomed environment to enjoy for years to come. It’s fun to show off too!
These are my top three choices and of course you can add outdoor living spaces such as a multi-tiered deck with an outside kitchen and built-in barbecue, smokers, pergolas, a hot tub, unique wood and glass garage doors, outdoor lighting, a new entry door, and just about anything you can think of.
Regardless of what remodeling project you choose, be sure to only hire a licensed and insured Design Build contractor who has years of experience and a verified reputation.
